Role of NTC Thermistor in Temperature Sensor

The temperature sensor, which is composed of NTC thermistor as the core component and which is composed of different packaging methods and widely used in various circuits for temperature detection, temperature compensation and temperature control, which plays a central role in converting temperature variables into required electronic signals. In the existing technology, most temperature sensors are sealed using a heat shrink tube, but in high temperature environment, the heat shrink tube is easy to become soft lead and cause damage when the temperature sensor is working, water vapor can easily penetrate into NTC thermistor, seriously affecting the accuracy of the thermistor. Its ability of anti-aging and waterproof is poor,which is difficult to meet the requirements of long-term outdoor harsh environment.


In order to overcome the shortcomings of existing technology, EXSENSE Electronics introduce a temperature sensor with the same NTC thermistor, which has better water resistance, good anti-aging performance and better reliability. This temperature sensor includes NTC thermistors, wires, silicone sheathed wire, and silicone insulated housing. The wire is connected to the silicone sheathed wire, the power wire in the silicone sheathed wire connected to the NTC thermistor wire; The peripheral packaging of NTC thermistor, wire and the welding point of the lead and the power supply lead are encased with epoxy resin; The insulated housing is covered on the periphery of NTC thermistor, wire and silicone sheathed wire; The space between the insulated housing and NTC thermistor, wire and silicone sheathed wire is filled with sealing adhesive glue.


In the production process, the welding of NTC thermistor is sealed with epoxy resin, then welded to the silicone sheathed wire;Then the welding point and NTC thermistor are sealed with epoxy resin again, to achieve better waterproof effect; Finally, the silicone housing and sealed NTC thermistor are glued with silicone adhesive glue. Silicone adhesive glue is better resistant to aging and UV resistance and its water resistance is great, which can give NTC thermistor a better protection. This allows the temperature sensor to work in various outdoor harsh environments for a long time, and accurately detect and control the temperature.
